Is It A good Practice To Delete Expired Content from Blog?

Of course Yes, it's a good deal to delete expired content or irrelevant content from the blog when its necessity is over. In addition, it doesn't affect your blog and another page's ranking. However, make sure you give the page HTTP status 410 so that Google will understand that this page is permanently deleted from your blog. Moreover, it saves your resources as well as other search engines resources. That way your new pages will be crawled faster. And your blog will have only fresh content which is beneficial to your readers.

For instance,

If you have a Jobs and vacancies related blog and you provide information on how many jobs have been created or how many jobs are vacant for some time. As you may already know that most of the jobs related posts are used for a limited time or date. In other words, you can say your blog content is time-sensitive which depends on time. After the date, your post will become irrelevant. And It will have no use. Therefore in these cases, it would be great to delete your pages.

Before you dive into it, you need to take a step back and ask yourself that

  • Whether my article is time-dependent or not. Will have any use in the future?
In this way, it'd be easier to get your answer. If your logic says my page should be deleted. Because this page is built for a short period. And after this short period, it will no longer be relevant. Then congratulations you are on a good path to deleting your expired content. In fact, almost all SEO experts like John Mueller, Matt Cutts support this practice.
